Gear up your ride with adequate protection

EVERY driver’s worst nightmare on the road is getting into an accident or encountering breakdowns in the middle of nowhere.

This is why having insurance is one of the most important things for any type of vehicle.

It may be even the most important thing to cover when it comes to motorcycles as a motorcyclist is more vulnerable in collisions, in general, compared to a car driver, with the non-presence of safety features like seat belts or airbags.

Although insurance is mandatory according to the Road Transport Act 1987, getting motorcycle insurance protects you against the many risks that come with riding on the road including any damage or loss to your vehicle, provides protection against any third-party injury, and saves you from being stranded unpredictably.

Insurance company Berjaya Sompo is offering its SOMPO Motorcycle Insurance policy holders comprehensive and third-party coverage against loss or damage due to fire, theft or accident.

This includes accident towing costs reimbursement of up to RM100 while comprehensive cover is up to RM50.

SOMPO Motorcycle Insurance offers a free 24-hour emergency roadside assistance programme which provides towing assistance of up to 100km round trip.

In addition, SOMPO Motorcycle Insurance includes a personal accident cover of RM5,000 (death or permanent disability) and a RM500 bereavement allowance (for death claim only) at no extra charge.

Optional benefits such as legal liability to pillion, inclusion of special perils, motorcyclist personal accident add-on and unlimited towing costs are available upon additional premium.

You can ride with better peace of mind now knowing that you have adequate protection from unwanted incidents on the road.
