ALTHOUGH the Huawei Mate50 series has only been on sale for just over a month, the smartphone has been flying out of store shelves.
This is especially so for the Mate50 Pro Kunlun Glass edition – that comes in Orange Vegan colour – which ran out of stock on the first day.
Due to the high demand for Huawei to bring in more variants of the Kunlun Glass edition, the company has decided to release two new versions – the Carbon Black and Silver.
Kunlun Glass
The Kunlun Glass version of the Mate50 Pro, which has 10 times more drop resistance, is the first smartphone ever to receive the Switzerland SGS’s five-star certification for glass drop protection, with over 10 quadrillion-level nanocrystals used in the coating to significantly increase its toughness.
To create the optimal smartphone screen, Huawei made the decision to collaborate with businesses that specialise in glass production. After four years of research, the company made a breakthrough in the manufacturing of basic glass by adding a particular metal oxide such as nanocrystals.
Huawei uses a sophisticated method of increasing its smartphone glass resistance by injecting a significant amount of nanocrystals to create a thick supporting framework.
Following a high-temperature heating process, the glass matrix’s seed crystals are encouraged to shrink to nanometre scale which greatly densifies the glass and fuses the crystals to it, resulting in the extra strong Kunlun glass.
Google apps
Now, you can use Google applications with the Mate50 Pro via the Lighthouse app, which is available to download on Huawei’s AppGallery.
All you have to do is install the Lighthouse app on your Mate50 series smartphone, open the app and add your Google account by clicking the Settings button on the top right corner, before signing into your account.
You can then go to the AppGallery, search any Google app and install it hassle-free.
Huawei has updated the variety of accessible Google apps, with apps such as Google Chrome, Google Photos, YouTube Studio, Google Find My Device, Google Earth, Google Chat and Wear OS by Google Smartwatch.
You won’t have to re-install the Lighthouse app or sign out of your current account to access a separate Google account either, as you can sign in to multiple Google accounts at once using the Lighthouse app.
You just have to click the Settings button again, select “Add account” and proceed to sign in to your additional Google account.
This Google app capability, however, is only supported on devices such as the Mate50, Mate50 Pro, Mate Xs 2, nova10 series, nova Y70, nova Y90, nova 8i, P50, P50 Pro, P50 Pocket and MatePad devices such as the MatePad10.4, MatePad Pro11, MatePad Pro 12.6.
The AppGallery on all the Mate50 series models also have a sophisticated four-step security system in place for virus scanning, fraud detection, malicious behaviour identification and privacy protection.
The security scan can also be done manually with just one click by accessing the “Security Check” tab on the AppGallery.
This dedication to providing leading solutions and technologies has always been a priority of Huawei in supplying its customers with quality products and services.
