Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, recently bagged the silver award voted by Malaysians in the automotive brand choice category at the inaugural Putra Aria Brand Awards 2022 – an offshoot of the well-established Putra Brand Awards.

The award was established through a nationwide consumer survey to determine Malaysians’ favoured brands across 24 individual categories. The survey was conducted and measured by a robust consumer research methodology by the international research company IPSOS.

“We are honoured and humbled to have received this new people’s choice award under the ambit of the prestigious Putra Brand Awards,” said Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) managing director Turse Zuhair.

“Thank you to all Malaysians who selected Ford as their brand of choice in the automotive category.

“We remain committed to delivering an inclusive brand experience and world-class customer service excellence to all our Ford customers,” he added.

The Putra Aria Brand Awards was established in 2022 by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to efficiently and inclusively serve the marketing fraternity by highlighting branding efforts across all segments.

Measured by consumer preference growth, the awards aim to recognise brands’ excellence in making an impact and deepening their presence in the market.

More than 25,000 consumer responses were received during the eight-week-long survey period from end-September to mid-November 2022.

Survey respondents rated the brands based on six criteria: their familiarity with the brand, their experience with the brand, their impression of the brand, their intent to purchase, their forced-choice brand and brands they would recommend to friends and families.

The Putra Aria Brand Awards is one of the two recognitions endorsed by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) as its brand champion partner and supported by the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), the Media Specialists Association (MSA) and the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA).

IPSOS is a global leader in market research and incorporates the best of science, technology and know-how and applies the principles of security, simplicity, speed and substance to everything it does.
