THE Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) is set to organise the 20th edition of the Malaysia International Travel Mart (MITM Travel Fair) 2023.
The exhibition will take place from July 28-30 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
First held in 2001, MITM Travel Fair is one of the most sought after travel fairs for tour operators, national tourism organisations, travel agents and consumers.
The annual tourism and travel event is a mega marketplace for different segments of tourism players in the industry to promote their attractive and affordable tour and travel packages to consumers.
A total of 60 exhibitors and 300 exhibition booths are expected to participate in the three-day event, which is projected to attract visitors from all walks of life and generate an estimated gross sale of about RM65mil.
The main sponsors and supporting organisations for MITM Travel Fair 2023 include the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Tourism Promotion Board of Philippines, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Penang Global Tourism, Resort World Cruises, Bank of China, Malaysia Airlines and Merchantrade Money.
Each visitor who spends a minimum of RM500 during the three-day fair is eligible to take part in a buyers’ contest and stand a chance to win attractive prizes such as international flight tickets, cruise packages and entrance tickets, worth a total of RM250,000.
The grand prize for the contest is one business class return ticket to Sydney, sponsored by Malaysia Airlines.
MITM Travel Fair 2023 will also see a number of performances and entertainment events to delight visitors throughout all three days of the fair, such as the MITM opening ceremony performance by Taiwanese dance troupe Dancing Piepiya of Forest, as well as sharing sessions by DJ Chrystina Ng and VJ Jason PH, to name a few.
