THE University of Reading in the UK is an ideal choice for students receiving their IGCSE, A-level, SPM or STPM results.
The university is renowned for its high-quality teaching, research and graduate employability.
It was ranked 61 in the world for Global Impact by Times Higher Education (2023).
Study at the Malaysia campus, the Reading UK campus or both
Fortunately, students do not have to travel all the way to the UK nor incur the huge financial expense of an overseas education to study with the university.
They have an option of studying at the university’s international branch campus in Malaysia with state-of-the-art facilities located in EduCity, Iskandar Puteri in Johor.
Students studying at the branch campus will have the opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds – the same prestigious University of Reading degree, high-quality academic standards, but at a significantly more affordable cost.
Should they wish, students also have the flexibility to transfer to the Reading UK campus, which is only 30 minutes by train from London.
Students can opt to transfer to the UK campus in their second or third year. Alternatively, they can choose a 1+2 transfer option, where they complete their first year of study in Malaysia and the last two years in the UK campus.
Top-ranked schools and programmes
Five of the university’s world-leading schools and institutions are represented at the Malaysia campus, including
> Henley Business School

> Accounting and Finance
> Finance and Business Management
> Management and business
> Law
> Psychology (with or without a one year professional placement)
> Quantity surveying
> Real Estate
Graduates have enjoyed excellent employability, with many securing job offers prior to graduation.
IGCSE, SPM and equivalent holders can join their 12-month International Foundation Programme (IFP) as a pathway to their chosen undergraduate degree.
Enhanced learning experience
The campus at EduCity Iskandar provides students with state-of-the-art facilities including IT-enabled classrooms, lecture theatre, learning resource centre and student social areas all conveniently under one roof.
Students also benefit from small class sizes of around 30 students, allowing them to receive more personalised learning and interaction.
The academic team is highly-qualified; 75% of those teaching on the undergraduate programmes are doctoral degree holders and many possess relevant industry experience.
Students also get to enjoy recreational facilities at EduCity that include an Olympic swimming pool, running track, indoor stadium, fitness centre, music studio and a student hub.
