THE University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) is making a high-quality UK education more accessible, affordable and flexible than ever.
The international branch campus of the University of Reading UK is a notable place for students with IGCSE, A-level, UEC and other qualifications, as they will be able to start their studies this April, July or September.
The modern and state-of-the-art campus in EduCity, Iskandar Puteri in Johor Baru, provides an excellent learning environment that includes IT-enabled classrooms, a lecture theatre, a learning resource centre and student social areas – all conveniently under one roof.
Within EduCity’s guarded compound, students also have access to top-notch sporting facilities, as well as a dedicated student hub.
The University of Reading UK, ranked 169th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2024, features five renowned schools and institutions, offering a diverse range of academic disciplines at the Malaysian campus.
These schools include the Henley Business School, School of Law, School of Built Environment, School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences and the Foundation Studies and Language Institute.
The institution’s degree programmes are also specifically offered in professional disciplines, providing students with excellent career potential and opportunities.
This includes courses such as Accounting and Finance, Management and Business, Law, Psychology, Finance and Business Management, Quantity Surveying and Real Estate.
Upon graduation, students will receive the same University of Reading degree certificate as they would if they had studied in the UK.
All programmes are designed to give students a headstart in their chosen careers and carry relevant industry and professional recognition.
Students at UoRM also benefit from an experienced and highly qualified academic team, with 70% of the academic staff that teach undergraduate programmes being PhD-holders.
Students at UoRM can also take advantage of the flexible options to spend one or two years studying at the award-winning UK campus in Reading, just a 30-minute train ride from London.
This option will appeal to parents who wish to send their children to study in the UK for overseas experience and exposure.
Although the cost of university education is a major financial burden for many, the investment can be a smart decision over the long term in providing one’s children with the best start to their professional lives.
Students who study at UoRM only pay 60% of the overall estimated cost when taking into account tuition fees and living expenses, compared with those studying at the UK campus.
UoRM’s fees are also comparable with other local private universities in Malaysia and those with excellent academic results may even qualify for the High Achiever’s Scholarship, worth up to RM36,720.
Those with IGCSE, SPM (including trial results) or equivalent qualifications can enrol in the one-year International Foundation Programme, while those with A-level and UEC qualifications can apply for direct entry to the institution’s undergraduate degrees.
