GETTING A high-quality UK education is now more accessible, affordable and flexible than ever.
University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM), the international branch campus of the University of Reading UK, is an excellent choice for students with IGCSE, A-level, UEC and other qualifications, with the option to begin their studies this July or September.
The modern, state-of-the-art campus at EduCity in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Baru provides an excellent learning environment that includes IT-enabled classrooms, lecture theatres, learning resource centres and student social areas, all conveniently under one roof.
Within EduCity’s guarded compound, students also have access to top-notch sporting facilities and a 24-hour student hub.
The University of Reading UK, ranked 169th globally by the QS World University Rankings 2024, features five renowned schools and institutions, offering a diverse range of academic disciplines at the Malaysia campus.
These bodies include the Henley Business School, School of Law, School of the Built Environment, School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, and Foundation Studies and Language Institute.
The degree programmes are specifically offered in professional disciplines that provide students with excellent career potential such as Accounting and Finance, Finance and Business Management, Law, Psychology, Management and Business, Quantity Surveying and Real Estate.
Upon graduation, students receive an identical University of Reading degree that they would have received if they studied in the UK.
Additionally, all programmes are designed to give students a head start in their chosen careers and, where applicable, carry relevant industry and professional recognition.
Students at UoRM even benefit from an experienced and highly qualified academic team, as 75% of the academic staff who teach undergraduate programmes are PhD-holders.
Students can also take advantage of the flexible options to spend one or two years studying at the award-winning UK campus.
The option may particularly appeal to parents who wish to send their children to study in the UK but are concerned about travel restrictions, health and safety, as Reading town is only a 30-minute train ride from London.
Although the cost of university education is a major financial burden for many families, the investment can prove to be one of the smartest in the long term in providing one’s child with the best start in their professional life.
Students who study at UoRM pay only 60% of the overall estimated costs compared to when studying at the UK campus – taking into account fees and living expenses.
The fees are comparable with other local private universities in Malaysia and those with excellent academic results may even qualify for a High Achiever’s Scholarship worth up to RM33,840.
Those with IGCSE, SPM or equivalent qualifications can enrol in the International Foundation Programme, while those with A-level or UEC equivalent qualifications can apply for direct entry to the university’s undergraduate degree programmes.
