Taking the plunge into a new career as a Life Planner (agent) can be terrifying. The unfamiliar environment, new responsibilities, expectations, and industry terms can easily overwhelm any individual right from the start.

Recognising this, AIA Malaysia launched AIA Elite Academy (AEA) with the objective of providing the best-in-class support and an environment that cultivates a spirit of collaboration, professionalism and well-being for the bright, capable minds who join the agency as Life Planners.
Launched in 2019, AEA is the first recruitment programme of its kind in the insurance industry which offers exclusive onboarding programmes invested in developing a new generation of highly driven Life Planners.
And as a way to introduce the virtues of AEA, AIA recently held an AEA Recruitment Carnival which leveraged on the latest innovation and immersive technology to create a dynamic recruitment experience unlike any other.
The three-day event which commenced from May 24 to 26 at AIA Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, guided participants through a digital vision wall that empowered them to map out their vision, purpose and track their goals, as well as create their own AIA avatars at the AI-based photo booth.
They proceeded to witness an interactive presentation featuring an immersive LED experience that showcases benefits of being a life planner, while showcasing the establishment of AIA Elite Academy and its various milestones along the way.
This was followed by simulations of AEA’s exclusive training programmes and an interactive exhibit where participants were able to use different digital tools to explore and understand their career path as well as potential income projection as a potential AIA Life Planner.
Over 500 attendees attended the carnival and took part in the various interactive booths, learning more about the benefits and features of the AIA Elite Academy programme.
Proven track record
Since its establishment in 2019, AEA has successfully groomed over 10,000 accomplished Life Planners who have demonstrated a higher level of productivity in comparison to those who did not take part in the programme.
Understanding the importance of providing a smooth transition for professionals to embrace their new roles as an AIA Life Planner, AEA has designed a programme that cultivates their skills and capabilities through customised training and mentorship in an environment that prioritises a spirit of collaboration, professionalism and well-being.
AEA’s focus on Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) excellence has also demonstrated results, with hundreds of new recruits successfully earning this highly sought-after global accreditation in the insurance industry.
In a move to strengthen its commitment in talent development, AIA launched a new Elite Academy Centre in Kuala Lumpur exclusively for AIA’s high performing agency activities. Located within AIA Sentral itself, the new facility consists of a Talent Development Centre and a Premier Agency Business Centre.
AEA’s programme is comprehensive, its Life Planners go through a 36-month developmental programme with the necessary tools, training and skillset to allow them to grow professionally while grooming them to be successful entrepreneurs that attain global recognition.
It’s a race against the clock! Attendees taking part in various games to understand the career growth prospects of an AIA Life Planner.
The carnival featured various interactive experiences, one of them being an immersive LED presentation that showcases the various milestones achievable by an AIA Life Planner.
