Explore horizons with UoRM’s prestigious law degree

The moot court at UoRM is an ideal setting for applied learning.

CHOOSING to study law opens up a world of diverse career opportunities.

While many graduates pursue careers as advocates and solicitors, there are numerous specialisations to explore, including family law, commercial law, criminal law, immigration law, and intellectual property law, depending on individual interests.

Beyond traditional legal practice, law graduates also have the option to join the private sector as corporate lawyers or legal counsel, or business advisory and consulting roles.

Arbitration, mediation and academia offer alternative paths, while the public sector provides opportunities in the judicial or civil service, where they can help shape public policies.

Prestigious legal accreditation

University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) – the Malaysia branch campus of the University of Reading UK, is currently the first and only international branch campus in Malaysia to offer a law degree.

The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree offered by the University of Reading both in our UK and Malaysia campuses is fully accredited in Malaysia and serves as the qualification for entering the legal profession.

It is accredited by the Bar Standards Board for the Bar Practice Course (BPC) in the UK, the Solicitors Regulation Authority for the Legal Practice Course (LPC) in the UK and the Legal Profession Qualifying Board in Malaysia for the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) Examination.

Students have multiple options to pursue their professional year, be it BPC or CLP in either the UK or Malaysia.

The School of Law is located in the historic Foxhill House on the Reading campus, which spans 130ha of picturesque parkland and has earned the prestigious Green Flag award 13 years in a row, making it one of the UK’s top green spaces.

The campus offers students a broad range of amenities, including sports facilities, health centre, eateries, a supermarket and on-campus accommodation. Take a virtual tour of the UK campus here
