Malaysia’s homegrown brand, Acson commemorates 40 years of enriching people’s lifestyle

THIS year marks a key milestone for Acson Malaysia as it celebrates 40 years of providing a comfortable living with its reputable and homegrown air conditioners.

Since its inception in 1984, Acson has been catering its products – a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial air conditioning systems – to Malaysians, establishing itself as a household name.

Their reliability and after-sales service further earned it Malaysians’ top favourite aircond brand in 2009, as accredited by Spire Research & Consulting.

Deeply rooted in its humble beginnings, the company has grown by leaps and bounds, driven by technological advancement and a deep understanding of the local market.

Throughout its continuous effort in providing comfort as well as catering to the diverse needs of its consumers, Acson expanded its stable of products over the years to include lifestyle air solutions such as dehumidifiers, air purifiers, USB table fans, smart home appliances and more.

Driving sustainable solutions

Acson’s unwavering commitment to prioritising positive environmental impact is evident in every facet of its operations.

The brand’s foresightedness in sustainability solutions can be seen from the many products that it introduces including the inverter air conditioners that utilise eco-friendly refrigerants with advanced technology to reduce energy consumption and minimise environmental impact.

With the goal in mind to promote responsible waste management practices, Acson has recently launched a refrigerant recycling campaign themed Save the Earth: Exchange for the Future Generation.

Air conditioners use refrigerants – substances and mixtures used in cooling systems like in a refrigerator, which may release harmful carbon emissions to the atmosphere if not properly disposed of.

As such, the refrigerant recycling campaign aims to drive the collection of used refrigerants to ensure they are recycled of in compliance with environmental regulations.

This is done by bringing together authorities, businesses and households to set up drop-off points and organise collection drives.

On top of that, the company developed its own MY Acson mobile application that will allow users to manage their air conditioners effortlessly from wherever they are, and at any time.

Change begins at home. Acson’s eco-friendly movement is not only limited to just manufacturing quality products but also incorporated into its business operations.

This includes conducting smart solutions within its headquarters and branches for energy optimisation such as equipping air conditioners with smart modules that are connected to a mobile app and installing Smart Human Presence Sensors in some of the meeting rooms to automatically turn on and off when not in use.

Acson continues to expand its stable of products, which includes lifestyle air solutions such as dehumidifiers, air purifiers, USB table fans, smart home appliances and more.Acson continues to expand its stable of products, which includes lifestyle air solutions such as dehumidifiers, air purifiers, USB table fans, smart home appliances and more.

Elevating industry standards

To provide a comprehensive understanding of sustainable manufacturing operations, Acson organises outreach programmes for the community. These trainings are not only limited to local students aspiring to become technicians but also for contractors, enabling them to continuously upskill and stay updated with the latest industry standards.

In collaboration with the Education Ministry, the company partners with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, Industrial Training Institutes (ILP) and the Advanced Technology Training Center (ADTEC) to impart the latest industry knowledge and skills, with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices and efficient service delivery.

This strategic partnership reinforces Acson’s commitment to elevating industry standards and advancing Malaysia’s sustainable development.

Looking ahead, the company aspires to be a trusted partner for air conditioning solutions in Malaysia, striving to create not just cooler environments but more comfortable living spaces.

Acson remains dedicated to driving innovation, expanding its product range, and strengthening its market position, while expressing heartfelt gratitude to their valued customers, partners, and employees for their role in achieving this 40th year milestone.
