The institution values community and personal development, offering extensive support as students pursue admission to elite institutions worldwide.

Through its University Placement Services (UPS), Taylor’s College assists students in navigating the complexities of university applications, providing expert guidance to help each student find their path to success.

“My journey began with my Cambridge A Level studies at Taylor’s College and it has been a great experience,” says Ayman Hakiem.“My journey began with my Cambridge A Level studies at Taylor’s College and it has been a great experience,” says Ayman Hakiem.

Guiding ambitions to new heights

Ayman Hakiem Hidyatul Khair, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London (UCL), shares his experience at Taylor’s College, saying, “My journey began with my Cambridge A Level studies here and it has been a great experience.”

He explains that his lecturers were instrumental in helping him achieve his academic goals and encouraging him to aim for top universities.

He credits them for their support and motivation, which helped him excel in subjects like Chemistry and Physics.

“Without them, I wouldn’t have got the high grades and I wouldn’t have even dreamt of applying to a top university.”

Reflecting on his path to securing a place at a prestigious UK institution, Ayman Hakiem highlights two major milestones: his impressive AS exam results and a three-month virtual internship with SeaBeach77 Limited.

The internship, focused on researching renewable energy in the maritime industry, provided him with practical insights into his chosen field.

“This experience gave me a glimpse of what an electrical engineer might do and allowed me to connect with real-life engineers,” he notes.

Taylor’s UPS and advisors also played a key role, guiding Ayman Hakiem through the application process and even connecting him with a UK education specialist, Mabecs, to strengthen his application further.

He also values his involvement in extracurriculars, such as the Taylor’s Athletics Club, where he found mentorship.

“The seniors in the club gave me tips and it wasn’t just about improving my sprinting skills; it was about learning to set and achieve goals, which has been invaluable in my academic and personal journey,” he reflects.

On his greatest takeaway from his time at Taylor’s College, he says, “Don’t be scared to try new things.

“I’ve met people with perspectives different from my own and made friends from various cultures and ideologies.

“These are experiences I wouldn’t have had if I’d stayed within my comfort zone and not made the most of what Taylor’s had to offer.”

To other students aspiring to attend prestigious universities, he advises: “Know your passion and where you want to go early on, as it’ll make it a lot easier for you to plan your next steps.”

Another success story is Tan June Nee, who is currently studying BSc Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and found her experience at Taylor’s College rewarding.

“Managing A Level’s rigorous syllabus and content was the most challenging part, but my lecturers at Taylor’s College were always there to support and guide me throughout my two-year journey,” Tan shares.

“They were extremely knowledgeable and dedicated, consistently going the extra mile to ensure we grasped their teaching.

“Their passion for teaching was evident, as they not only imparted wisdom but also instilled good values in us, allowing us to grow into independent learners ready for university-level education.”

Tan emphasises the supportive atmosphere at Taylor’s College, which she says was instrumental in her university application process.

“The UPS organised numerous university talks and invited guest lecturers from top institutions like Imperial College London, LSE and the University of Bristol. I found these sessions insightful and beneficial in curating a strong university application,” she explains.

She was also assigned an experienced advisor who assisted her with university applications and counselling sessions, simplifying the process.

Tan appreciated the vibrant student life at Taylor’s College, where she engaged in multiple clubs and societies, gaining new skills and building connections.

One of her experiences was volunteering through Taylor’s Community Service Initiative (CSI) and the Leo Club.

“Volunteering allowed me to improve my interpersonal skills, expand my network and build a community connection with like-minded individuals. These experiences have been fulfilling,” she notes.

“I would definitely encourage my fellow students to take advantage of the opportunity to join as many clubs and activities as possible to have fun, gain new once-in-a-lifetime experiences and meet people with similar interests.”

She highlights that Taylor’s campus environment was a unique and essential part of her experience, adding, “I enjoyed the green landscapes and serene spots like the lake, the common ground lounging area and Syopz Mall, which allowed me to unwind and recharge after a long day of classes. The campus fosters both academic and personal growth.”

Tan’s greatest takeaway from her time at Taylor’s College is the realisation that the world is essentially everyone’s oyster, emphasising that with the freedom to make significant decisions about her future comes great responsibility.

She is grateful for the informed choices that have helped turn her childhood dream of studying abroad into reality and she values the diverse individuals she met who have greatly impacted her growth and shaped her into who she is today.

Tan advises other students not to be afraid to take risks and to conduct their own research when preparing to study at prestigious universities.
