FOR 32 years, Sunway Lagoon has been more than just a theme park – it’s been a treasure trove of joyful memories for countless families.
Now, the iconic theme park is setting sail on a fresh adventure with the unveiling of Captain Quack Land – a reimagining of its Wild Wild West night park.
This nautical wonderland, inspired by Sunway Lagoon’s beloved mascots Captain Quack, Lady Quack, and their twins Gogo and Bebe, is an enchanting escape for families.
From its sparkling lights and lively atmosphere to thrilling new attractions, Captain Quack Land promises a magical experience for visitors of all ages.
“We realised there was a lack of spaces designed specifically for children to play, explore, and feel truly happy,” says Sunway Theme Park’s executive director, Calvin Ho.
For Ho, this rebranding is about more than just fun – it’s about preserving a legacy.
“Sunway Lagoon has been around for over 30 years, and we’ve had the privilege of seeing generations grow up visiting the park.
“Today, those same visitors are bringing their children and even grandchildren. This rebranding ensures we stay relevant and continue to offer something special for these families,” he adds.
Quacking good times
The newly revamped night park is brimming with attractions, including Captain’s Theater, where live shows entertain the crowd, and Lady’s Avenue, home to 100 quirky Captain Quack statues for visitors to explore.
Feeling adventurous? Scale the towering rock-climbing wall or try your luck at the Gashapon area, where capsule vending machines hide delightful surprises for kids and adults alike. For adrenaline junkies, the soon-to-debut water coaster promises an exhilarating ride.
Classic favourites like Pirates Revenge, Cannonball, and the nostalgic Grand River Rapids ensure that long-time visitors can relive their fondest memories while introducing the park’s magic to a new generation.“Beyond the rides, we’ve added vibrant colours, enchanting lights, and specially composed music to create a fairytale-like atmosphere.
“After spending a few hours here, you’ll feel like you’ve entered another world,” says Ho.
Fun for all generations
The beauty of Captain Quack Land is its universal appeal. While children are enchanted by the whimsical setting, parents can unwind and enjoy quality time, and grandparents can join in the fun.
“Imagine a grandparent walking their grandchild to a ride – even if they’re not riding themselves, the joy of sharing that experience is unmatched,” Ho shares.
After a day of thrills, visitors can recharge at the park’s newly revamped dining spots. Indulge in mouthwatering pizzas, hearty burgers, and delicious tacos at Captain’s Diner, or enjoy snacks and light bites at Captain’s Pier.
For a cosy meal, Hot Meal Ba serves up flavourful Chinese-Muslim cuisine. All the dining areas, explains Ho, are now indoors, allowing visitors to enjoy their meals comfortably, come rain or shine.
