Italian court bans UberPOP car service

ULTIMATUM: UberPOP has 15 days to comply or to cease.

ROME: An Italian court on May 27 ordered UberPOP to shut down within two weeks, which is the latest in a series of legal challenges and protests across Europe against the ride-sharing service. 

The popular but controversial taxi app for mobile phones puts customers in touch with private drivers at prices lower than those of traditional taxis.
