Snazzy: The PS4 and DualShock controller will come in a number of colour options.

Some readers will have noticed that the price of the PS4 on the Sony Malaysia Online store is lower than the new SRP.

However, it's up to local channels like Sony Malaysia and game shops to set their own selling price at or below the new SRP.

Unfortunately due to the weakening Ringgit, the price of new stocks of the 500GB PS4 is likely to stay at RM1,599 for the foreseeable future.

SCEJA also announced that the PS4 will now come in more colours – up to seven for Malaysia instead of the nine announced at TGS for the Japan market.

Also announced at TGS was the SRP for the 1TB version of the PlayStation 4 which will be RM1,799.

As for availability, the 500GB model will be available at the new price starting Oct 1 while the 1TB PS4 will hit Malaysian stores by the end of next month.

The TGS is an annual video game expo by the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association and Nikkei Business Publications Inc.

This year's show takes place from Sept 17 to 20.
