Apple unveils new MacBook Pro notebooks with quieter keyboards

A more realistic display and a revamped keyboard are among the most striking changes Apple has made to its MacBook Pro notebooks in the latest generation.

Apple says its newest keyboard allows users to work more quietly without the risk of keys getting stuck, a familiar nuisance to many a MacBook user. The latest keyboard should also prevent a repeat of the malfunctions reported by many users of current models.

Thanks to a new Apple T2 chip, users can now also directly address Siri without having to activate the voice assistant by hitting a key.

The top-range configuration of the 13-inch model packs Intel's Core i7 2.7-gigahertz quad-core processor and up to 2 terabytes (TB) of SSD storage space.

The 15-inch model can be ordered with a maximum of a Core i9 2.9-gigahertz six-core processor, with up to 4 TB of storage space and a Radeon Pro graphics card with 4 GB of RAM.
