Spotify app redesigned with simpler navigation, personalised search

Spotify is now using its Search function to suggest genres and playlists based on your listening preferences. — dpa

Paying users of Spotify may have already noticed a major update to their iOS or Android app. The latest changes brings a simper navigation bar, which is reduced to just three options: Home, Search and Your Library.

Nothing much to write home about? Take a look at the new search function. You'll notice Spotify is now using this space to suggest genres and playlists based on your listening preferences.

Spotify says these new search suggestions will evolve with your taste in music.

Users can also use the Search option to access start an endless artist radio stream, essentially an automated playlist based on one song or artist.

As Spotify shows in a video demonstrating the new functions, the latest version of the app even lets users download this radio stream for offline listening. – dpa
