SAN FRANCISCO: Reddit confirmed Feb 11 a new funding round that included a US$150mil (RM611.55mil) investment by Chinese technology behemoth Tencent, prompting concerns that “the front page of the Internet” might wind up censored.

San Francisco-based Reddit raised a total of US$300mil (RM1.22bil) at a US$3bil (RM12.23bil) valuation, with investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Fidelity, Sequoia and Tencent, the company’s CEO told CNBC.
