Niantic is cancelling events and making changes to its games to encourage players to game from the safety of their homes instead. — Niantic

Niantic – the game studio behind Augmented Reality games centred around walking outdoors – is cancelling events, instead offering incentives to keep players gaming without going out.

It cancelled two upcoming Community Day events, an Abra themed day for Pokémon Go and a yet to be confirmed theme for Harry Potter Wizards Unite, that were scheduled for later this month.
