Can Huawei gadgets still be used without Google?

EVER since Huawei introduced its own app store, known as the Huawei AppGallery on all its devices, it has been adding on more apps onto its list. Today, most of these apps frequently used by Malaysians are available on AppGallery.

Check out the video above on how the Huawei AppGallery stacks up against the Google Play Store.

Huawei AppGallery provides Malaysian users with most of the similar or similar functioning apps as can be found on Google Play.

App availability

The majority of apps and services available on Google Play Store are present on Huawei’s AppGallery as similar apps or that offer the same functions.

For example, while the Google Play Store has the Gmail app as the main email client, Huawei’s email app syncs more than one email domain, and that includes Gmail, making it convenient to access your personal and work email on one app.

Huawei has apps that correspond with Google’s functional suite.

Other popular functions that Google has made essential for users’ daily life on most mobile devices are also present in the AppGallery as well.

For one, Huawei recently introduced Huawei cloud, which offers up to 50GB storage free for a year – its rival on Google, Google Drive, offers only 15GB storage free, any more has to be purchased.

Huawei has also introduced its Huawei Video and Huawei Music function that offers a great alternative to Google Play Music and Google Movie and TV apps.

In addition, Huawei Video is giving away three months free on its Premium Access to new registered users.

For those who frequently use Skype, Zoom or Google’s own Google Meet, Huawei introduces MeeTime, which works great even in low lighting or during weak network conditions.

Huawei MeeTime is lightweight in terms of bandwidth usage, which translates for more stable audio and higher resolution video performance with other Huawei devices.

The video meeting app gives users more productive virtual meetings as well as different fun views for intimate moments with their loved ones.

Taking the immersive experience even further, MeeTime lets users share the screen with friends for shopping advice or even makes it easy to guide first time users and those who may be “technologically challenged” to use their phones via step-by-step instructions.

There are even benefits of using the Huawei AppGallery that Google does not have, such as a dedicated “Huawei Theme” app or a “Member Center” where users can log on to find solutions to their needs and get more rewards.

More surprises to look out for

Since it began less than a year ago, Huawei’s AppGallery has increasingly provided continuous non-stop benefits to users. Some of these benefits come across as rewards that users can redeem from the AppGallery.

More deals and gifts to users when they sign up with Huawei AppGallery.

Huawei AppGallery users also have full access to apps from around the world with no regional locks, unlike Google apps, which are only accessible according to certain regions.

No regional blocks in app use with the Huawei AppGallery.

This is especially true for games, which means as a gamer, you can play games on your Huawei devices across different regions.

In terms of security, the Huawei AppGallery has been awarded with the industry’s best CC EAL 5 + safety certification, which puts it at par as the Google Play Store in terms of safe accessibility.

Proof of Huawei AppGallery’s secured marketplace experience places it on par with the Google Play Store.

Huawei has also introduced a brand-new feature called Quick Apps on the Huawei AppGallery. This nifty, space- and time-saving feature lets users try out any app on the Huawei AppGallery by running it on the Quick Apps section, without the need to download.

Run apps off a cloud and save space and time.

This exclusive function works like any other app but without the need to waste precious time and data to download the app; it runs immediately on the phone with no requirements.

With the majority of popular apps frequently used by Malaysians are available now on the AppGallery, there should be less worries about missing out on apps that complete your world.
