Battle of Noise Cancellation: Huawei FreeBuds Pro vs Helicopter Headset

Noise cancellation earphones redefined with the Huawei FreeBuds Pro

HUAWEI Malaysia is excited to introduce the new Huawei FreeBuds Pro, the world’s first True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones with intelligent dynamic noise cancellation priced at RM699.

These earphones along with the newly introduced Watch GT 2 Pro and MatePad T 10s, priced at RM1,199 and RM999 respectively, will arrive in all Huawei Experience Store (HES) and online on Huawei Store on Oct 10.

So, what’s with this new Huawei FreeBuds Pro and what are its unique features?

As the pioneer and innovator in the TWS earphones field, Huawei FreeBuds Pro delivers exquisite craftsmanship, freedom from wires, excellence in sound quality and long-lasting comfort. along with an innovative, unique form of active noise cancellation technology that is sure to delight consumers.

Imagine flying in a helicopter with its loud engine and propeller sounds. Well, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro can effectively filter these noises out, leaving you with comfort to your ears and mind.

While not everyone frequents helicopter rides, people who commute on the LRT or MRT to work daily would certainly find this more relatable.

The moment the train enters the tunnel, it produces a screeching sound that never fails to cut you off during phone calls.

With an intelligent dynamic noise cancellation earphone, this won’t be a problem anymore.

The earphones achieve this level of noise cancellation by adopting the hybrid active noise cancellation technology.

Its inward– and outward-facing microphones can detect out-of-ear and in-ear residual noises. Then, dynamic drivers generate accurate anti-noise signals to counteract those residual sounds.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro can achieve up to 40dB (1) in its noise cancelling effect, allowing you the chance to experience tranquility and serenity.

With active noise cancellation enabled, the battery can last up to four-and-a-half hours, while without turning on noise cancellation, the battery lasts a whole seven hours, without needing to charge them in the case (2).

You can easily pinch the earbuds’ stem to control the noise cancellation on or off, putting you in good hands. The Huawei FreeBuds Pro intelligently senses the environment and improves noise cancelling experience.

The dual microphones inside and outside the earbuds quickly pick up surrounding noise and automatically switch between three noise cancellation modes – ultra, cozy or general.

Ultra mode

Lay back with deeply enhanced noise cancellation when traveling. This mode lets you lose yourself in the music and stay away from the disturbance.

At this time, the earphones can achieve a maximum noise cancellation depth of 40dB, which allows you total immersion in your audio, while also protecting your ears without having to turn volume on too loud.

Cozy mode

This mode keeps you focused by reducing noises from paper flipping, typing, computers and occasional conversations in the workplace, libraries, and other quiet environments.

Sometimes, even minute sounds in a quiet café on a Sunday afternoon can interfere with your mood. For absolute silence, this is the way to go.

General mode

Enjoy the immersive music or game sounds in bustling streets or crowded cafés as the ambient noises are greatly reduced.

This mode is perfect for those who are always out working on-the-go, be it in a Grab car, waiting at noisy restaurants in between meetings or just sitting in a mall.

Essentially, the new Huawei FreeBuds Pro offers a liberating audio experience with extraordinary sound, style, comfort, and noise cancellation, plus intelligent features to boot.

It is also equipped with the world’s first dual-antenna Bluetooth earphones to ensure stable Bluetooth connectivity.

And, it also comes with a unique feature called Awareness Mode and Voice Mode (3), which lets you reconnect with your surroundings without removing your earphones.

Just a long press, you can switch to awareness mode, bringing you back to your full presence.

The unique Voice Mode, on the other hand, reduces ambient sounds, making human voices stand out, so you don't miss important details over the air, like airport announcements or a quick chat with passing friends.
