‘Fortnite’ maker Epic gets US$2bil from Sony, Lego owner


In addition to producing Fortnite, which has hundreds of millions of registered users, Epic Games also makes one of the most popular game engines, Unreal Engine. — AFP

Sony Group Corp and the owner of the Lego Group invested US$2bil (RM8.47bil) in Epic Games Inc, the maker of Fortnite.

Epic is valued at US$31.5bil (RM133.41bil) after the investment, the Cary, North Carolina-based company said Monday in a statement. Epic’s valuation about a year ago was US$28.7bil (RM121.55bil).
