Yelp will issue disclaimers on crisis pregnancy centres

The online reviews site Yelp said that it is rolling out a new feature to protect users seeking abortions from being misled about anti-abortion centres listed on its platform. — AP

People who come across crisis pregnancy centres on Yelp will now be met with a disclaimer that explains what the centre doesn’t provide: abortion services.

Yelp’s policy change means it now flags the centres, which often try to deter patients from getting abortions, as places that “provide limited medical services and may not have licensed medical professionals onsite”. The rule will apply to religious and secular facilities in the US and Canada.
