‘Evercore Heroes’ mixes dungeon crawls with MOBA gameplay

Players have to work together to defeat creatures and power up in dungeons in "Evercore Heroes." (Vela Games/TNS)

When multiplayer online battle arenas exploded on the scene a few years ago, several publishers tried their hand at the genre, but few could break through in the same way that League of Legends and Dota 2 have.

Blizzard tried its hand with Heroes of the Storm and EA had Dawngate but neither was a hit. Interest has cooled for a bit, but now, it seems there’s more interest in MOBAs albeit in a different mould. Developers are taking the basic gameplay elements of the genre and adding new twists to them. Omega Strikers is one of those new efforts, and Vela Games is offering its own take on a MOBA-adjacent project with Evercore Heroes.
