BERLIN: WhatsApp has expanded its poll function to now let users create single-vote polls.

For those who “need a definitive answer”, the new feature gives you the option of allowing people to only vote once, the Facebook and Instagram sister company said.

All you need to do is disable “allow multiple answers” before publishing the poll.

With the new update, it should also become easier to find polls in chats and keep track of the results. Poll creators will now receive a notification when someone responds, while you can also filter chats by polls, just like you can for images, videos or links.

WhatsApp has also introduced the option of forwarding media with captions. This means you can either forward documents, pictures or videos with the existing caption, alter it or create a new one or simply delete it.

WhatsApp says it has started rolling out the updates globally and they will be available to all users in the coming weeks. – dpa
