Instagram is continuing to work on integrating artificial intelligence. Users of the social network should soon be able to converse with an AI-powered chatbot with 30 different personalities.

Artificial intelligence is cropping up here, there and everywhere on social networks. Instagram is reportedly following in the footsteps of Snapchat and its "My AI" bot by developing its own AI-powered chatbot, but with a slight twist.

The tool will be accessible in any private conversation. To call upon this artificial intelligence agent, users will simply have to mention "@ai" in the conversation's text field, which will in turn open a chat to ask for help or ask questions.

Instagram is visibly aiming to jump on the artificial intelligence trend to serve the needs of its users, especially since more and more of them prefer to send direct messages rather than post content to the site's newsfeed.

So what will Instagram's AI chatbot offer? It will be able to answer user questions, give them advice and even help them get more inspiration for writing messages. Instagram's added extra is that users can potentially choose from among 30 different personalities offered by the bot.

According to reverse engineer and mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi, the tool is currently being tested by a handful of users selected by the platform.

This isn't the first AI-based option that Instagram has developed for its platform. The social network has already worked on creating AI-generated stickers. Snapchat and LinkedIn have also unveiled new AI-powered features. – AFP Relaxnews
