Months after going viral with a face reveal video, popular YouTuber Dream announced that he will be going back to being just a “gamer in a mask”.
In the description on new video ‘bye, from Dream.’, the YouTuber shared that after revealing his face and removing his mask, he regretted “the attention and hate”.
“I will slowly be deleting all pictures of me online, and going back to just being a gamer in a mask. Starting with my Mr Beast Video, and my Face Reveal video, ‘hi, I’m Dream’. I will be walking it back. I will be getting rid of everything other than my new mask,” he said.
At the start of the new video, Dream can be seen scrolling through some comments on his face reveal video which he posted back in October, where some users shared disparaging remarks about his looks and urged him to put the mask back on.
Despite the hateful comments, the video had a light-hearted approach where Dream was seen talking to two friends who also told him to put his mask back on if he wanted to become a hit with viewers again. He later showcased how he approached a company to make a new mask.
Dream claimed that he will be wearing his mask at all times, even in public and at places like fast food restaurants.
“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart to those that supported me, even though I am ugly. I appreciate you all more than you could ever know, and I will be working on my face while I’m masked again,” he added.
Website Kotaku said Dream’s management confirmed that the YouTuber will wear his mask in “all public places for the foreseeable future”. Dream is expected to headline a YouTube convention in the US later this month.
Dream has over 30 million subscribers on his channel where he mostly posts content related to the video game Minecraft. He has garnered more than two billion views on his channel.
