What makes a good first date? It’s a question as old as dating, and answering it has left plenty of men and women stressed. Recently, a list of unacceptable first date spots rocketed around the Internet and social media users are sharply divided over it.
The list is heavy on chain restaurants, with perennial favorites Cheesecake Factory, Applebee’s and Chili’s topping the list. Movie dates and a casual coffee are out too.
The list seems to have been inspired by a viral TikTok video of a woman refusing to get out of the car because her date took her to the Cheesecake Factory. While many users in the comment section thought she was “overreacting”, others were “proud” that she had high standards.
The list contains 28 places deemed unacceptable on a first date. To the surprise of many, classic dates like bowling, coffee and the movies made the list. As for dining options, popular chain restaurants like Denny’s, Olive Garden, Red Lobster are all apparently no-nos.
The list has caught the attention of athletes, talk show hosts, celebrities and more.
