Previously, the company allocated 40GB, 50GB, 60GB, 75GB and 100GB as 5G only data for the respective plans. The company explained that 5G only data will be utilised first before using the 4G/5G base data allocation.

The company said it will be processing all data upgrades from Dec 14 to 20 and users will be notified via SMS upon successful upgrade.

It added that the upgrade is "automatic, permanent and free" with no price changes to the bill.

For customers on the legacy Postpaid Unlimited 98, 108, 128, 158 and 188 plans, the company said they are recommended to change to a new postpaid plan if they want to experience 5G.

Users on these plans can also subscribe to the company’s 5G access pass which is currently being offered for free where the company said users can experience 5G with their existing rate plan quota.

The access pass will be deactivated when the user upgrades to a new plan.
