BRUSSELS (Reuters) -The European Union has designated adult content platform XNXX as a very large online platform (VLOP) under its Digital Services Act (DSA) as it has on average 45 million monthly users in the EU, it said on Wednesday in a statement.

The rules under the DSA require companies to share data with authorities and researchers, conduct risk management, and undergo external and independent auditing.

They also allow the Commission to impose fines for incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information in response to a request for information.

XNXX has four months to implement measures to protect users online, including minors, and address any systemic risks arising from their services, the Commission also said.

In December 2023, the EU designated three other adult content platforms - Pornhub, Stripchat and XVideos - as VLOPs.
