BERLIN: If you're finding crime shows on TV too boring, why not play the detective yourself? Happy Broccoli's hilarious Duck Detective: The Secret Salami for consoles and PCs offers a mixture of humour and tricky puzzles for budding sleuths.
In a universe where salamis are found at crime scenes and animals can talk, you slip into the role of 2D duck Eugene McQuaklin to solve a very special mystery.
The adventure starts in the office of the washed-up detective. A "freshly-divorced duck," Eugene is behind on his rent, addicted to toast and so very far from his best.
But when the phone rings and he is called to a new case, the duck detective sees his chance to finally get back on his feet. Something is fishy at the bus company Bear Bus and Eugene sets out to unmask the culprit.
So you go and explore the offices of Bear Bus to discover who is the salami bandit causing trouble at the transport company. To find out, Eugene talks to the company's employees, examines objects and collects clues.
All of Eugene's "deducktions" are recorded in a notebook and at the end of each section, you need to fill in the gaps to advance the story.
Within the game's charming comic graphics, the 2D characters look like stickers come to life. Another big plus is the humorous dialogue delivered by the voice actors.
The playing time is short (2 to 3 hours) but players can expect an exciting detective adventure with quirky characters, amusing puns and funny duck facts.
Duck Detective: The Secret Salami is available for the Nintendo Switch, the Xbox, and PCs for around €10/US$10 (RM26.75). – dpa
