UPDATE: ToyyibPay said it regrets the allegations that user data has leaked through its payment platform, as the issue has gone viral on social media.
"Investigations on our infrastructure and server revealed no trace or evidence of a recent data breach," the company said in a statement today (Aug 26).
It added that the original post claiming to offer the company's alleged database for sale has also been removed by the user who started the thread in an online data leak forum.
The company has also made a police report to ensure legal action can be taken against any parties involved in spreading false information regarding the alleged incident online.

PETALING JAYA: Digital payment platform toyyibPay says it is currently investigating a data breach allegation after a hacker posted a sample of a database for sale online, which are claimed to contain files belonging to the company.
"On this matter, we are currently conducting a detailed investigation to verify the allegations," the company said when contacted by LifestyleTech.
It added that any further information will be shared after the investigations are complete.
"ToyyibPay will immediately report the matter to authorities if the allegations were found to be true," the company said.
A hacker on an online data leak forum offered an alleged toyyibPay database for sale, asking for 0.7 in bitcoin (around RM184,000) as payment, in a post on Aug 22 with priority given to toyyibPay’s owner for “exclusivity”.
The hacker claimed that the database which is more than 12GB in size, contains personally identifiable information such as names, emails and phone numbers.
Launched in 2019, toyyibPay claimed on its website that it has over 40,000 merchants utilising the company's services.
