PETALING JAYA: Waze users are currently experiencing issues with the navigation app, where the user interface is being displayed in the wrong language.

LifestyleTech's checks reveal that the issue primarily impacts specific elements of the user interface, including the vehicle icon, text notices, and text on buttons.

Reports on the outage tracking website DownDetector indicate that the issue appears to have started around 8pm, with a spike of 219 user reports.

User reports on X (formerly Twitter) suggest that the app is mainly being switched to languages such as Hebrew, Spanish, Arabic, and Russian.

Some affected users have turned to social media to express their frustration over the issue and to question its cause.

One Selangor-based user, @CJ_Janesh, wrote that "Waze is having glitches." Meanwhile, KLite @NurdiyanaAli shared, "My Grab driver is complaining that his Waze turned into the Spanish language."

No official statement from Waze on the issue has been released as of publication time.
