After rolling out to dedicated applications on smartphones, tablets and computers, Advanced Voice Mode is now coming to the web version of ChatGPT. Internet users will be able to converse with a voice assistant in a fluid and natural way, as if speaking to a human, directly via the ChatGPT website.

OpenAI chief product officer, Kevin Weil, has announced that paying ChatGPT users (Plus/Enterprise/Teams/Edu subscribers) will be able to use Advanced Voice Mode in their desktop web browsers, starting this week. This means that it'll be possible to talk to ChatGPT directly from your web browser.

As with every new development, users of the free version of ChatGPT should be able to take advantage of this feature within a few weeks. As such, all ChatGPT users will have access to this feature, already available in mobile (Android and iOS) and desktop (for Windows and macOS) applications.

The Advanced Voice Mode offers a much more natural human-machine interaction, with the voice assistant even able to adapt to the mood of the user. Among other uses, ChatGPT can serve as a universal translator, a coach or a tutor.

You can choose between several voices for this voice assistant, which can also speak in any language, and with an accent, if asked. The result is impressive, giving users the impression of talking to a human being. Nevertheless, it's best to speak slowly and in a quiet environment. You can even get a written transcript once your conversation is over. – AFP Relaxnews
