Waze has added the option to display electric vehicle (EV) charging stations instead of petrol stations for some of its Malaysian users.

Interestingly, Malaysia is not currently listed as a supported country on Google’s official page for this feature. However, LifestyleTech was able to enable the feature, possibly indicating that it may be rolling out in stages.

The feature, first introduced overseas back in March of last year, can be enabled via the app's settings. Users only need to navigate to the "Driving preferences" section in the settings menu and tap on "Vehicle details".

Users can also select up to seven different charging connector types used by their vehicle, which will then be used to provide them with the locations of charging stations that are compatible with a specific vehicle. — Screenshot from appUsers can also select up to seven different charging connector types used by their vehicle, which will then be used to provide them with the locations of charging stations that are compatible with a specific vehicle. — Screenshot from app

From there select the "Electric vehicles" option and toggle "Turn on EV features".
