Just out of his teens, young interior design student Samson Wong is determined to preserve Peranakan culture by collecting as many antique items as he can.
SAMSON Wong’s room is like a mini museum. The split-level set-up has a small sitting area and an upper level bedroom, and is full of antiques. An old, black dial phone – inherited from his father’s family – hangs by the door. Old clocks hang on the walls. A metal fan stands in a corner and two Victorian armchairs (each over a century old) flank an antique Chinese chess table with mother-of-pearl inlay.
