Prasarana may seek JV for Penang’s RM27b transport project

PETALING JAYA: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, formerly known as Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd, is likely to partner with private companies to jointly bid for the project delivery partner (PDP) role for Penang’s RM27bil Transport Master Plan, said group managing director Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar.

The request for proposal tender documents for PDPs that were made available by the state government last Friday have piqued the interest of many big players in the construction industry, including state-owned owner and operator of the urban public transport system Prasarana. The companies have to submit their proposals on how they planned to implement the master plan by Dec 16.
