Resolve jurisdictional overlap, says Heng


PETALING JAYA: Any jurisdictional overlap between the civil or Syariah courts must be resolved in the civil courts, said MCA.

Refering to the child custody battle surrounding S. Deepa and her ex-husband who converted to Islam, Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie said it was also time for comprehensive legislation to resolve once and for all the issues triggered when one spouse embraced another religion.
