She said the party's election commission in charge of Kuala Selangor had called for polls in the branch to be cancelled after it was found that representatives of a candidate were voting on behalf of voters.

The much-anticipated Kuala Selangor division election between Khalid and Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam was called off after the committee received numerous objections from members who cited irregularities in the manner it was carried.

Khalid, who is also Kuala Selangor division chief, apologised on Twitter after the elections were called off.
