The bomb that was found embedded in the ground in Cheras

“A group of four hikers discovered the bomb and immediately alerted us with a phone call.

“A bomb squad from the district headquarters was sent to the scene and we have been on standby,” he said.

ACP Ab Rashid advised the public to stay at least 1.5km away from the area.

“The public are advised to avoid hiking there today (Monday) and Tuesday.

"All entrances and areas (connected to the hiking track) have been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the public," he said.
