PANGKALAN BUN/JAKARTA: The search for Indonesia AirAsia Flight QZ8501 was shifted eastwards in the Java Sea Monday, a day after Indonesia's search and rescue agency Basarnas expressed optimism that the black box was located near large objects found by recovery teams.

"Day 9: Search sector expanded eastward, in view of ...easterly direction of the current at (the) rate of 1 knot,'' Malaysia's Chief of Navy Abdul Aziz Jaafar said in a tweet Monday morning.
