Cost of online renewal of foreign workers’ permits will be borne by Govt


Thumbs-up: Employers and businesses have welcomed the Cabinet’s decision to abolish the renewal fee for foreign workers’ permits over MyEG.

KUALA LUMPUR: The RM35 fee for the online renewal of foreign workers’ permits over MyEG – a point of contention for employers and businesses – will be abolished from May 2 and its costs absorbed by the Government.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said the matter was brought up in the Cabinet by Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and approved on Tuesday.
