Unesco experts start Langkawi geopark status study


LANGKAWI: Two assessors from Unesco have started their assessment work to determine Langkawi’s global geopark status.

Geopark experts Pablo Rivas Paloma from Spain and Pasquale Li Puma from Italy began with a field trip to Kilim Karst Geoforest Park yesterday, accompanied by Langkawi Development Authority CEO Tan Sri Khalid Ramli and researchers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
