SINGAPORE: A Singaporean man died on Oct 10 in Hong Kong, where he was holidaying with his family.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, Hong Kong police said the incident occurred at around 9.20am.

The 63-year-old man was using the massage pool at Royal Plaza Hotel in the Mong Kok district, police said.

A hotel guest found him unconscious in the pool and a lifeguard tried to revive him before the authorities arrived, reported news outlet Sing Tao.

He died while being taken to Kwong Wah Hospital, said the police, adding that the cause of death will be determined after the autopsy.

The man had a medical history of high blood pressure, his family told the police, according to a Sing Tao report.
