Cash value gives life to SPACs


KUALA LUMPUR: The cash value of oil and gas special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) have given life to the stocks.

Share prices of SPACs CLIQ Energy Bhd and Sona Petroleum Bhd have surged by 9.7% and 12.5% each, outperforming the KLCI index and were above fixed deposit rates since December last year, said Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research.
