MBSB seeks extension for merger negotiations with Bank Muamalat

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) has submitted an application to Bank Negara for an extension from Dec 30, 2015 until Feb 2, 2016 to conclude negotiations with Khazanah Nasional Bhd and DRB-Hicom Bhd on its proposed merger with Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd. 

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, MBSB said both DRB-Hicom and Khazanah had also made similar applications to the central bank on the same day.

“Further announcements will be made as and when there are material developments pertaining to the proposed merger,” it added. - Bernama
