KUALA LUMPUR: Cyberjaya’s first international youth hotel will open its doors in 2020, and will be managed by hospitality specialists Container Hotel Group and Everly Group.
The 300-room hotel, which will be located in Roponggi, Cyberjaya, is to be developed by BND Global Development.
It will be conceptualised based on a “Live, Play, Study” theme, with common areas and social spaces to encourage interaction between residents.
Container Hotel Group, Everly Group and BND Global Development had on Sunday, inked a memorandum of collaboration yesterday, which will see Container Hotel Group and Everly Group jointly manage the hotel’s operations for 10 years, with an option to extend for a further five years.
“The location of the hotel is strategic as Roppongi is set to be the education hub of the country as it will house SEGI College, Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences as well as an international school, while the Multimedia University is sited just across,” the group said in a press statement.
Container Hotel Group, the brainchild behind Malaysia’s container and capsule-themed hotels, will offer its expertise in creating an innovative look-and-feel to the hotel.
The group’s container-themed hotels, which is built from renewable freight containers, has seen success since its first outlet opened in 2013.
The group then launched the Container Hotel in Penang on December 23, 2015, while the Ipoh branch of the Container Hotel is set to open later this week.
“With so many varsities located in and around Roppongi, we are optimistic of a high occupancy rate comprising students, interns, flashpackers and researchers.
“We will lease out the rooms to cater to the needs of the guests, regardless if it is on a daily, monthly or yearly basis.
“We could also draw up a package to let out the rooms according to their academic semester,” said Container Hotel Group CEO Ryan Loo.
Everly Group manages the Everly and Prescott hotel chains in Malaysia.
“The hotel will offer a full range of services, including 24-hour housekeeping, F&B outlets and recreational facilities such as swimming pool and gym,” said Everly Group CEO Dennis Tan.
