KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recorded sales of 2,623 commercial vehicles in 2015, up 5.5% from the 2014.

The company said in a statement that last year it delivered to customers 193 Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles and 2,430 Fuso trucks.

That increased Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’ market share in Malaysia for both the European and Asian truck segments.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Commercial Vehicles vice-president Albert Yee said the company, amid challenging market conditions, had increased its sales and market share, launched a new truck series, and achieved significant milestones at its Pekan production plant.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Commercial Vehicles celebrated the production of its 25,000th unit in Malaysia last year.

The year also saw Mercedes-Benz Malaysia extending its Fuso product portfolio with the launch of new variants, the FM and FN series, in October. The FM and FN series succeeded its predecessors which were launched in 2009.
