Shareholders of Pos Malaysia give greenlight to KLAS and KLB buy

DRB-Hicom's disposals would enable it to consolidate its logistics business under Pos Malaysia.

SUBANG: Pos Malaysia Bhd has garnered majority votes of 96% for the acquisition of the entire equity interest in KL Airport Services Sdn Bhd and Konsortium Logistik Bhd.

The RM749.35mil acquisition is expected to be completed by mid September.

Come FY18, Pos Malaysia expects its courier business, PosLaju, to be the main contributor of its revenue.

This comes as the group embarks on its cost containment initiative for PosLaju, by streamlining both its standard mail and courier businesses.

“The optimisation of both businesses is expected to increase Pos Malaysia’s revenue and productivity, while containing costs,” said Pos Malaysia group CEO Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh.

During the group’s annual general meeting, the board of directors declared a first and final single tier dividend of 11.7 sen per ordinary share for FY15/16 to be paid on October 7, 2016.
