BANGKOK: Airlines in Thailand tumbled the most among the world’s carriers after the nation raised the excise tax on jet fuel 20-fold to bring it in line with other fuels.
The levy was increased to 4 baht a litre last Wednesday from 0.2 baht a litre, Excise department director-general Somchai Poolsavasdi said in a phone interview in Bangkok.
