Nor Fadhilah makes history as first woman group CFO at Telekom

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia has appointed Nor Fadhilah Mohd Ali as its group chief financial officer (CFO) with effect from May 15 and she has the distinct honour of being the first woman group CFO as the telco made several key management appointments.

TM said on Monday Fadhilah’s appointment takes effect on May 15, 2017. She is currently the financial controller, group finance.

The telco also announced Datuk Kairul Annuar Mohamed Zam Zam will be the chief strategy officer (CSO) with effect from May 15, 2017.

Kairul Annuar will relinquish his current position as executive vice president of TM Government and Chairman of Managed Accounts Council (MAC). 

Elaborating on the appointments, TM said Fadhilah has been the financial controller since Aug 16, 2015. 

Prior to that she was the general manager, financial advisory and business development in group strategy, TM since April 1, 2008. 

She started her career with TM as an assistant accountant on Aug 2, 1993. Throughout her career, Fadhilah has gained considerable experience as a strategic finance controller with a track-record in establishing cross-functional partnership and collaboration in delivering results to TM. 

Fadhilah holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia and is a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK (ICSA). Prior to her tenure with TM, she was an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). 

As for Kairul Annuar, TM said he has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, where he started his career in TM in 1985 as an engineer.

Over the years, he has taken up different roles giving him considerable knowledge in the industry, exposure to regulatory matters and the various stakeholders within the industry.

He holds a Bachelor in Engineering Science from the University of Western Ontario, Canada and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya. 

Commenting on the new appointments, TM group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly said: 

“These are key appointments under our new TM leadership, and part of the next phase of the Company’s ongoing transformation journey as Malaysia’s Convergence Champion; building on the strong foundation established by Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa. 

“We are also very pleased to note that all these appointments are internal homegrown talents who have been identified in our leadership succession plan. This is in line with TM becoming a more agile organisation, responding to business and market needs.”

TM also said with the appointment of Kairul as the CSO, his current position will be taken up by Azizi A. Hadi who will now be the executive vice president of managed Accounts, and Mohd Roslan Mohd Rashidi, who will assume the role of head of TM Government. 

This is in addition to Roslan's role as CEO of GITN Sdn Bhd – a TM subsidiary that serves the communication requirements of the Government sector. 

At VADS Bhd, Massimo Migliuolo will be handing over the reins to Nizam Arshad as the CEO of VADS and VADS Lyfe Sdn Bhd. 

“With his expertise in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) and smart services, Massimo will be providing consultation work to VADS,” it said.
 
TM added the customer advocacy role helmed by Ahmad Azhar Yahya will be embedded into the business, and Ahmad Azhar, who is also the chief digital officer will be focusing solely on this critical role, reporting directly to the Group CEO. 

With Azizi becoming the executive vice president of managed accounts, Moharmustaqeem Mohammed will be taking over the role as CEO of webe.
